Dear Keith, thank you so much for pilotedge. It is absolutely amazing I can't imagine flying without it. The only thing that I dislike about it is the airfields are empty. I miss my at AI traffic addons with airports filled with airline traffic. I've yet to be at the airport with another pilotedge pilot and I fly quite often. I was wondering about the possibility of IFR drones. Specifically airliners that could call and the ground controller could give them instructions (type them into their computer as well) so they would follow these set instructions to the runway like AI traffic do. When they reached runway they could call tower, at the appropriate time tower could give them a take off clearance and hit a key let them take off and when they are handed to departure they could simply disappear. AI Traffic could reappear perhaps 20 miles out on a long final at busy airline airports and Tower could vector them in along with the real pilotedge pilots and enter airspeeds for the AI aircraft for proper spacing.
Another thought would be to include an AI engine on the pilotedge server which all could see with the standard Microsoft voices that would work alongside the pilotedge controllers. There are often times when multiple controllers are on tower, ground, approach frequencies anyway.
It sounds complicated. But it is so unrealistic to fly into LAX to be the only one there.
Thanks for your time, John

Re: Compliment and thought
I'm glad you've enjoyed the experience so far. LAX is one of the LEAST used airports on our network, because heavy metal makes up such a small portion of our traffic. The idea of automatic traffic and voices at towered airports has been brought up many times in the past. A lot of thought went into the vision for how the network operates, how the radio system operates and how the drones operate. It would be a very different network if we had automated voices and AI traffic at towered airports. I stand firm in the decision that it's not going to happen.
If you'd like to fly with other people, spend some time at SNA, it's the busiest airport on the network.
Here's the traffic graph for LAX: http://peaware.pilotedge.net/airport.cfm?airport=klax

I routinely see 2-3 airplanes at a time there during the day. This is because it's the hub for most if the Training Program flights.
You can also take part in the fly-outs that other pilots have organized, such as the one coming up this evening.
There's a VA called "The ATP Experience" which is coming back to life and will likely making its home on PilotEdge. It will be EXACTLY what you're looking for. I'll ask Joe Caban, the founder, to drop you a PM with more info. Briefly, they will be flying, as a group, several times a week in a hub/spoke model from LAS to various fields around our area, then back to LAS. There was a test run the other day with 4 pilots and it was fantastic. It's not a simple conga line event from A to B and back to A. He'll tell you more about it.

I agree with jmg225 on the amazingness of PilotEdge! It will be my default place to fly for years to come. But I wonder if there will ever be a mission or achievement based option for the platform. I personally would not be against having to qualify for certain ratings to be able to fly. And working your way up from different type aircraft, just like it is in real life, might make the challenge a lot of fun. I picture points or credits being awarded for flying a mission say to check out a pipeline in a 172 or deliver and sick person to a hospital in Sacramento. Feel free to tell me Im ridiculous, but if Pilotedge evolved into a microcosm of real life aviation activity, that would be totally cool.

Are you familiar with our training program (http://training.pilotedge.net) or FS Economy? They might be right up your alley.MAltadonna wrote:I agree with jmg225 on the amazingness of PilotEdge! I am familiar with it, did the V-1 so far. And Im looking forward to trying the other tests as well.
