SBAN16 KWANG CMA VNY V186 PDZ PQ50

Post by falopz »

hi i flew yesterday this tec route but when it ends (pdz) i was kinda lost in what to do next : i wanted to fly VOR (a) proc.

in the chart, the tec route ends in pdz vor and it has an arrow to exit radial 089, i doesn t have any altitude or distance markers, si i assume is not flyable, so what to do next?

it has an arrow (not bold) so why is there,,,,,i done see any connection of that 089 and the approach....

so what to do next while passing PDZ,

what i did whas flew direct to homeland HDFf whch is IAF, then flew outbound 347 rad, to intercept 270 RAL ( by the way once passed overhead HDF i made a teardrop to outbound the radial pretty close to the station, i assumed that if i just turn left heading 343 i wouul be little off because of the very hard left turn (more than 100 degrees9 to exit 343....

i tried to copy the chart but dont know how sorry about that.

Notify the controller what approach you'd like to do and they'll give you instructions prior to PDZ. The approach isn't flyable from PDZ, as you've correctly determined.

Yes, that radial is there to depict the inbound holding course.

Yeah if ATC didn't instruct you to do anything upon reaching PDZ you'd just navigate directly to KRAL.... KRAL is the clearance limit (the end of your IFR clearance) so you just go there.

Ideally they'd vector you prior to PDZ or give some alternate instruction before it.

Did you tell ATC you wanted to fly that approach? Were you flying online?
