Camarillo Departure Procedure

Post by mikealphacharlie »

Hi
I'm researching the TEC Route from Camarillo to Brackett Field (KCMA to KPOC). The initial waypoints are defined as Ventura R-044 and then GINNA. My question concerns how I am supposed to transition from the Camarillo departure procedure on to the Ventura 044 radial. The departure procedure is described as:

DEPARTURE PROCEDURE: Rwy 8, climb to 2500 via
CMA R-061. Rwy 26, climbing right turn to 2500 via CMA R-265. All aircraft climbing left turn direct CMA VOR/ DME. Continue climb on course to assigned altitude.

Loosely translated, this says that you should fly round in a circle until you get back to the Camarillo VOR in the middle of the runway, whilst avoiding all the traffic heading for the ILS at Oxnard.

So, once I get to the Camarillo VOR, how do I get lined up with the Ventura radial that is my next objective?

Regards
Steve

expect radar vectors to VTU R-044. The documentation for TEC routes states that aircraft can expect vectors to the first fix in any TEC route, or even a SID/DP.

It is relatively rare to be assigned the ODP out of a towered airport. You are normally given a heading to fly by the tower.

Thanks Keith - I suspected that the answer would be something along those lines, but you can't be too careful !
