When I get home, I will plug the GF166 directly into my computer, and if that works, then I know the other ones not working will need the same remedy. I guess I'll have to buy a USB card, too. I had to add a 4 port USB card to my computer to accommodate all of my devices(to get them to work the way I wanted) - that is another solution you can use
I am currently running 2 - 7 port powered USB hubs and have about 10 ports on the back of the computer.

Vincent, one more thing: do you know if GF works with USB 3.0? I figured if I buy a card, it should be 3.0 not 2.0, right?

I would buy a USB 2.O card, it will be cheaper and it is all that you need for this, but if you want 3.0 it is backwards compatible and will also work just fine.Anthony Santanastaso wrote:Vincent, one more thing: do you know if GF works with USB 3.0? Anthony, try plugging your modules into different combinations of powered USB hub(s) and directly into your computer. I have a similar issue with my GF-166 and GF-46 not being recognized when I launch X-Plane, and have to have them plugged into a certain powered hub for them to work correctly*. They don't like any other hub or being plugged directly into my PC, for some bizarre reason.
*Even though I can get them to work with the right USB hub, they'll die mid-flight fairly often, requiring me to reach around back and unplug/replug them mid flight. Always seems to happen when I get an approach clearance or something that demands attention...

Update on the dying/freezing GoFlight modules issue.
As seen in the thread linked above, the problem seems to be related to the Apple Charger program that comes with some PC motherboards. On my ASRock mobo, the program is just called "App Charger", which I found by simply googling "asrock apple charger". After uninstalling the program, my modules have been working perfectly.
Hope this helps others who might be experiencing this issue.

FYI, I tried plugging the radio module into a separate USB port on the mobo and it still wasn't recognized. I looked and I do not have the program that you mentioned, Jeff.
This is pretty frustrating because I have all of these modules and only two work. It almost makes me want to go back to FSX simply for this reason, although I'd really like to stick it out with X-Plane.
