V-01 Exam KSNA Facility Chart

Post by blazer05 »

Just a note (since this caught me yesterday) - the facility chart on the page describing the exam is out of date. The TWR freq for 01R/19L (119.9) is not shown and taxiway H is shown as G on the outdated chart. I realize it is my responsibility to make sure I have the latest charts.

I was practising the circuits at KSNA and upon switching to TWR was informed I was on an incorrect freq. I let myself get completely flustered and had to have TWR repeat my takeoff clearance. I sounded like an idiot.

Things went downhill from there. All my fault.

But I thought it might be nice to have an updated facility chart on the V-01 page.

Glad I was practising and not taking the exam - I hate to fail.

Yes, keeping the charts up to date on those ratings is no picnic. Thanks for the reminder that they should be updated.

Don't be afraid of repeating a rating, it's not the end of the world. :)

Hey there... Use http://skyvector.com for routes/weather/charts and/or http://www.faa.gov/air_traffic/flight_i ... ucts/dtpp/ for terminal charts - both always have the most updated charts.

I just uploaded all new charts to the training program web site, they should all be current. Ryan's right, though, it's best to refer to current charts.

Actually there is a downside I can think of. FSX has navdata from 2006 - so sometimes an ILS freq in the real world will be different than FSX.

XP generally stays up to date once a year I think???

Here is a site that updates FS9 and FSX to 2013 NAVAID data. I was always 1 to 2 degrees off on my approaches in FSX and the update seemed to have resolved that. Also, this website has other updates to the airway intersection data as well. http://www.aero.sors.fr/navaids.html

I would recommend removing any misc scenery that may have navaid information in it before doing this update. It bit me in the butt as seen from another post I made about the PMD VOR.

Sorry if this belongs inthe FSX forums, but the answer to Ryans post is here.

I've used that but had some issues with addons.... I'm sure it's a combo of the newer charts and the older planes...
