Plantronics headset not recognized

Post by crum »

Hello,

Latest version of PE client doesn't work with Plantronics D100 headset (Savi 400) - it doesn't recognize the output part of device, recording part is ok. If I set internal audio interface as default output device PE works fine, but I want to hear controller's voice in headset. On startup PE stucks on 'Initializing voice' stage and then shows the error about audio output initialization.

VATSIM client (vPilot) works fine in same conditions.

Any ideas?

====

And another problem - PE couldn't connect to server, the error message is:

Code: Select all

[ERROR] Protocol error:
...with no error ID

- Sim is started and flight is loaded.
- Reboot and deleting registry entries for PE doesn't help this time

If it can't initialize the playback device, then things are going to go poorly after that. That's the underlying problem here. You said there was an error message from the voice initialization, can you post that? The follow on problem is caused by that first problem.

Hello Keith,

These are two separate problems. PE doesn't connect even if it starts without an error when built in audio interface (not Plantronics headset) is set as default audio device in windows.

And right now PE has started with Plantronics headset with no error (that's weird! :? ). But it still doesn't want to connect to server. The error msg is the same: [ERROR] Protocol error:

Disregard. Seems it was because of inactive account. However I've expected more clear error message in this case :)

Yes, we lost the ability to display meaningful error messages in FSX/P3D client a while ago, I will revisit that in the future.
