I-11 test & turning inbound of WENOD

in looking for my answer to my I-11 test ding....again....but further along... I find that my search terms i-11, I-11, arc enemy, vor/dme rwy 17(several germane hits but not an exact hit filter),0 results...

neither was "I-11: Meeting your Arc Enemy" found as a search term. Although I have seen the problem elsewhere...what can I/we do to be a better searcher/search engine?

The reason that I was searching for WENOD, is that I was failed for turning inside of it when to my eyeballs, that's precisely what you're supposed to when you turn turn inbound from WENOD toward 170° both on my GTN750, & on the latest Kvcv – Victorville vor/dme rwy 17 approach chart.

Please help me to understand how I am wrong in interpreting both the and the Victorville vor/dme rwy 17 approach chart AND

my GTN 750 to read / send me (when in GPS MODE) INSIDE WENOD, rather than hitting it THEN turning LEFT to 170° , which would've taken me way outside of the DME ARC.

1. I thought we were taught here to turn inside of fixes.

2. It appears that Flight 1, has some answering to do in that their GTN750 appears to have duplicated WENOD...dupe or not, I suspect I probably still woulda been dinged.
