How is this missed approach + hold supposed to be flown?

Post by mgrun »

This is the chart:

This is how I flew it:

I executed the missed, flew direct to GLJ inbound 300 at 2100 feet, after crossing turned right to about 330-340 for the teardrop, held that heading for a minute, left turn 180 degrees to track the 120 inbound, I got failed before I even had estabilished the inbound.

How is it supposed to be flown?

It's supposed to be a parallel entry, however it's close enough that teardrop should be ok, too (which is what you did by the sounds of things). I'll ask Peter to look into this one to find out what happened.

Hello,

As Keith alluded to you flew the procedure correctly so there is no reason why this would cause a failure on the rating. Can you tell me the reason that the controller stated for the failure?

I don't have any recent reports of an I-10 failure so if you could please provide me with the time/date that you flew this flight and the callsign used so I can look into it further that would be appreciated.

I apologize for the inconvenience.

Hello Again,

Disregard my requests, I was able to track down the controller involved. He stated that you were observed SW of the VOR which was the reason he had for the failure. Obviously this is incorrect based on the picture you submitted.

Once again please accept our apologizes regarding this matter. We will be providing additional guidance to our controllers regarding this matter to prevent this from happening again.

Unfortunately, as the entire rating wasn't flown I'm unable to reverse the result.

Please let me know if you have any further questions or problems.

Hello!

Thanks for all the fast replies! No problem about that, I will just fly it again. Practice makes perfect ;)
