Any active virtual airlines on PE?

Post by jmiracle »

Greetings all- joining PE soon as a new pilot.
I've been flying offline since PMDG released the MD-11 for FSX.
Looked at vatsim occasionally, but the lack of persistent coverage is problematic when trying to plan flights.

I'm wondering- are there any active virtual airlines flying on PE today (preferably those looking for new members)?
I'm planning on flying mostly big iron- A320/737-NG, MD-11, 777.
I'm familiar with real world procedures for the above and have latest nav data + charts + flight planning software.

I know- big iron- not very realistic given the size of the airspace- but hey, an hour and a half flight is plenty.
Who has time for a 6 hour cruise during the work week :)

Thanks!

I am CEO/Owner of Air Northwest ( http://www.airnorthwest.org ) I fly mostly GA when I fly on PilotEdge, but we do have a couple of guys that fly ANW flights from time to time. We have a lot to offer along with the standard "big iron" you mention. Check us out and see if we're a fit for you. We'd love to have you flying for Air Northwest.

ndbair.com has a couple of guys who fly here from time to time, California Airlines is in a similar boat, too (californiaair.net).

Agreed.

You may be interested in The ATP Experience.

We're consistently active, flying around 50 flights per week.
We fly B737 and B717 aircraft on coordinated flight schedules to 14 airports (12 within the PilotEdge coverage area)
Our flights are all between 50 minutes and 65 minutes block.
We always have fun! :)

Yes, thank you Keith. We do have two or three pilots who use PE, me being one of them. I use PE when I'm flying in the Socal area. Otherwise you'll find us on VATSIM or flying offline. I personally do a lot of GA flights on PE that are not for the VA, but also fly the ole PMDG from time-to-time for the VA, on PE.

We are a smaller VA, not trying to be the next AvA or anything. We prefer people who know what they are doing and have an entrance exam (don't worry, if you have a general understanding of aviation you will do just fine) to ensure those that come in to join us will not need their hands held.

You will normally find the majority of us flying over the weekends (damn day jobs getting in the way of fun!), but that's not to say there aren't those flying most days. However, teamspeak is usually more active (and entertaining) over the weekend.

Several of us live on the east coast, with a few more spread out further west.

Thanks,
Lance
