who to call for flight following

apologies if this has been asked before , I am planning a short vfr trip from l78 jacuna to Palm Springs , jacuna is non towered, what frequency would I be able to call for flight following ?

Check out the nearest airport with instrument procedures, Imperial County (KIPL). Note the remarks for the airport state:
APCH/DEP SVC PRVDD BY LOS ANGELES ARTCC ON FREQS 128.6/291.7 (JULIAN RCAG).
Call LA Center on 128.60, if you don't hear them right away, climb higher.

Boom :)

If the airport you're leaving doesn't have a published departure frequency, another way to find the overlying ATC is to look at the IFR Enroute-Low chart, and find the nearest radio box. I just wish they'd print those on the VFR sectionals too.

Yes indeed. Or find the nearest airport with procedures and use the frequency from there.
