Flew CRQ-LAX in United E-120. Flight was late due to delays into LAX (rwy 25R closed due to blown tire on departing aircraft). The outbound flight (LAX-EWR) remained on time, though, resulting in a stupidly short connection time. I hauled between the gates, made it onto the plane a few minutes before they closed the doors only to find my wallet was nowhere to be found. Realizing I left it in the seat pocket on the E-120, I accosted the flight attendant and set the wheels in motion to try to get it back. Here's how it all panned out:

Re: [video] left wallet on UAL flight
I notice they're clearing planes to land with aircraft in position. Does LAX have a waiver for this?
Re: [video] left wallet on UAL flight
It's both a waiver as well as other factors being met such as the safety logic system is operating properly and the tower cab is staffed appropriately.Keith Smith wrote:I notice they're clearing planes to land with aircraft in position. Does LAX have a waiver for this?

All N90 bravos have the waiver, too, to my knowledge.kevin meyers wrote:It's both a waiver as well as other factors being met such as the safety logic system is operating properly and the tower cab is staffed appropriately.Keith Smith wrote:I notice they're clearing planes to land with aircraft in position. Right you are, here 'tis:
1. Facilities without a safety logic system or facilities with the safety logic system inoperative or in the limited configuration must not clear an aircraft for a full-stop, touch-and-go, stop-and-go, option, or unrestricted low approach when a departing aircraft has been instructed to line up and wait or is holding in position on the same runway. The landing clearance may be issued once the aircraft in position has started takeoff roll.
2. Facilities using safety logic in the full core alert runway configuration may issue a landing clearance, full-stop, touch-and-go, stop-and-go, option, or unrestricted low approach to an arriving aircraft with an aircraft holding in position or taxiing to LUAW on the same runway except when reported weather conditions are less than ceiling 800 feet or visibility less than 2 miles.
c. Inform the closest aircraft that is requesting a full-stop, touch-and-go, stop-and-go, option, or unrestricted low approaches when there is traffic authorized to line up and wait on the same runway.

I've never watched a video from pax seat with ATC audio... that was cool! Wish there was more... Did you take the audio from liveatc and sync it or what?

Re: [video] left wallet on UAL flight
yes, it was sync'd (painstakingly) from liveatc.net.
I do have a similar one for the E120 flight from CRQ-LAX. The ATC audio isn't quite as good because the liveatc feed covers 2 final sectors and the scanner just happened to catch the other approach frequency much of the time, so most of the calls for us were missed. There are a couple of vectors and the approach clearance. The handoff to tower is lost, though. Not sure what to do with that footage yet. I haven't listened to the tower and ground audio yet to see if they're all there.
