Squawk Mode C

Tonight I did a casual flight in the beautiful Majestic Dash 8 Q400 from KLAX to KSFO. Upon logging off the network I happened to go to the pilotedge app to "squawk standby" and behold it was already on this option. Now my question is does this work for all aircraft in P3D? I tested it in the aircraft switching between standby and ta/ra and the same results were occurring in the app. This is very helpful if indeed it was meant to be this way. Sorry for being so wordy and if this post needs to be moved to the appropriate form feel free. Thanks
