x-plane crashing conflict with saitek and pe plugin

Tried to sneak in a couple laps of the pattern at KSNA this morning. Kept crashing before I left the ramp. Updated to latest saitek plugin and got in two laps before it crashed again. Log attached.

For a test, what happens when you use an X-Plane DEFAULT airplane?

Are you using the latest version of PilotEdge, Skymax, GIZMO and Carenado C172II Skyhawk v3 (or any other plugins)?

I also seem to recall reading some things about 64 bit and GIZMO causing crashes.

Is GIZMO required to run the Carenado C172II Skyhawk v3? I thought I recalled reading that the latest versions don't require GIZMO.

Are you using a short call sign (6 char or less)?

The usual method to trouble shoot X-plane issues is to remove all plugings and add on software and try to recreate the problem. Then re-add plugins and options until it crashes.

I have tried different things all afternoon. The only thing I know for sure is everything worked well before 10.31 realease. I had just about decided it was the gizmo not agreeing with .31, but my last flight got me from KAJO to almost Lake Elsinore before it crashed. Gizmo was disabled, which in turn disabled SkyMax and MaxFx.
I had also reinstalled the PE plugin.

Again, last line on log file reports PE causing the crash.

Anyone know how to go back to 10.30

Disabling a plugin and deleting a plugin are NOT the same things. Also renaming the pluging does not delete it. If the plugin is in the directory, it will still be loaded.

I remember reading multiple posts on the X-Plane forum that 10.31 is not compatible with older Gizmo. X-plane 10.31 is a major change. As such all plugings will need to be 10.31 compatible.

I personally get a lot of value having two versions of X-plane active on my PC. Disk space these days is very cheap so it's really not hard.

To make a new copy of X-Plane copy the entire X-plane root folder to a NEW location. Name the new root folder something like X-Plane-10-Beta. Make sure X-plane is not active during the copy.

In the NEW folder navigate to the Resources/plugings and DELETE all plugings except PilotEdge and Xsaitekpanels. Navigate back to the X-Plane-10-Beta directory and launch X-plane from the Beta location. Test using a default X-plane aircraft.

What this will do for you is to allow major modifications to be done without completely trashing out your original set up. This will also make it easier to go back and forth between the two X-plane configurations.

IF X-Plane Beta is stable, this will confirm that a stable set up is possible as well as to help narrow down which plugings might be causing the problems.

IF it's still not stable, then delete the Xsaitekpanels pluging and try again. If still not stable, then delete PE. If still not stable, then you will KNOW there's something wrong at the system level.

Having a separate Beta folder will also allow an easy way to test new versions of X-plane without hurting the main system. This method has been a big help during my testing/debugging of various Windows and Linux systems. I have been able to X-plane 10.31 with PE and Xsaitekpanels for many hours without crashing on both Windows7 64 bit and Linux/Unbuntu 64 bit. Having a Beta test system was a real time saver.

When did you last download the PE plugin? I was having PE caused crashes so I downloaded a fresh version of the PE plugin and that fixed the problem. Evidently I was using an outdated version or it had somehow become corrupt. You should also check your Xsaitekpanels plugin to make sure it is the most recent iteration.

Also, you have a bunch of bad scenery files. Your scenery errors are not fatal to X-Plane, but errors do have a cumulative effect on your X-Plane performance. You should either fix, remove or replace all your scenery folders that are posting errors to your log.txt.

A quick posting tip: Don't copy and paste your log.txt file, rather, attach it using the "Upload attachment" tab below the reply box. This makes the thread much cleaner and easier to read and reply when we don't have to scroll through lines and lines of the log.

I have downloaded the latest of each, purged plugins, etc, etc. I tied to upload the log file, but it said I couldn't upload a dot txt file, hence the copy paste. I am in the process of a whole new x-plane clean install as we speak. I have been working on this for the better part of the last 4 days, so if this fresh install doesn't work, well.....who knows.

Consider ZIP'ing the log.txt and then attach.

Please consider creating a Beta/Test X-Plane directory at the same time once the base install is working. It really does make Beta and new version testing easier and less painful without risking a stable production set-up.

I would also encourage testing of each plugin as it's installed. The aim here is to rule in/out a specific plugin as a possible "cause" of the crash. Start with the most basic/simple settings and work up.

Well, I'm done. I have trouble shot this thing for four days. I have made a new clean x-plane install, tried to fly with default aircraft, no custom scenery and only the PE plugin. CTD. Last line always says it is caused by the PE plugin. I'm going to go watch football and play with my newborns.

sorry this has taken so much time. A user submitted a TeamSpeak error log which might be the smoking gun for MacOS crashes. I'll be looking into it more closely this evening after the kids are down for the night.
