Nice article on PilotEdge in AOPA Magazine

Post by twharrell »

Congrats to Keith and the PE team on the nice publicity received in the Jan 2015 issue of AOPA magazine. The 3-page article highlights the IFR Boot Camp and the important role that PE plays in the workshop. I even got to see a picture of the back of Keith's head. One day, Keith, you'll need to turn around for the shot. ;)

Cheers,

Todd

Nice! I've had that issue sitting beside me on my desk for a week or two and hadn't quite reached the article yet. Thanks for pointing it out, Todd. Great pub, congrats PE!

Thanks, guys. IFR Bootcamp is a joint venture between Pilotworkshops and PilotEdge. We provided the curriculum and ATC. PWS provides the marketing and support. We started out early in the year providing the training ourselves in a centralized facility up in Nashua, NH but quickly realized we needed to move to a distributed model. So, we trained several training providers and what you see in the magazine is the result of that new thinking.

There is another evolution in the works, but I can't go into that just yet :)

Keith and Todd,

Have not had time to read the article in AOPA but my friend's son who just passed his private mentioned it to me. He liked the BootCamp idea. It appears that he is a chip off the old block since he recognizes the utility of an IFR rating. I keep inviting him by to watch PE on my machine so I can impress upon him the value of the service. Getting comfortable in the ATC system and progressing with the training in a much better suitable environment. At the very least, I have pointed him towards the numerous videos, so that he might watch when he has time. I have also looked into PilotWorkshops' curriculum. It seems like a natural fit with Mark and I know Bob Martens is a top notch speaker from his FAA Safety days. Best of luck with this venture.
