Pilots,
One of the things I really dislike about X-plane is how hard it can be to manually tune the radios via the click/drag..With scroll wheel support in some planes it's easier BUT still way too cumbersome with the .XXX radios.
I've heard some guys map keys to radio tuning but thought I'd ask for what specific keys / sequences folks use that work well in the aircraft -- and what X-plane labels this (ie what section of the setup has radio comms key assignment)
IE how to select COMM1 tune Major digit & tune minor digit using the keyboard, while hand flying the aircraft.
Thanks for the tips

Re: X-Plane Radio Tuning Tips Help?
Hey Todd,
I've got the COM radio tuning set to one of the 4-way hat switches on my throttle (saitek X55). I use the up and down for Major digit up and down, and left and right for minor digit up and down. I use another button for the standby/active frequency swap. It works pretty well for me.
I forget the exact name of the button assignments, but in the button assignment menu there is a section for radios. The options I use are something like standbyCOM1bigUP and standbyCOM1smallUP. I made those values up, but it's something like that.
Good luck!

Re: X-Plane Radio Tuning Tips Help?
I have mapped control up-down-left-right to the com1 stdby coarse/fine up/down functions (4 keys, 4 functions). I have mapped a button on my joystick to flip/flop the primary/stdby freqs. Works great.

Thanks guys. That's just what I was looking for.
I like the idea of using the keyboard primarily and then using. Simple joystick button to flip but I have a hay switch for views that I don't actually use that often so maybe I'll try both methods.
