Enabling Failures Generated by PE Staff?
Watching an Helipilot7 video today got me to thinking - is there an approved public method to get on the "equipment failure list"? If I wanted to enable failures in X-Plane myself, is that a smarter way to go?

If you manage your failure settings client-side, then you have complete control over the environment from flight to flight, and, if you want to run failures on, the experience is identically surprising to you. The ability for remotely-triggered failures is really for instructors who want to set up a specific, strictly-controlled failure scenario for a student -- who, for training purposes, needs to experience the failure as random. Since you're the student, might as well keep it client-side

This might change in the future, but for now, it's not generally available. The videos you've seen have basically been me testing it out in different airplanes and situations. The controllers haven't been trained on how to trigger failures and given the extremely high workloads we've been dealing with of late, if we do enable this for retail use, it's probably going to have to be automated in some way.
