As soon as i departed IFR from KBUR to KLAS on the SAAB 340, i did realize on PE's main web page that there were 3 heavies filing their IFR request to Las Vegas as well from different departure airports, i thought this is gonna be fun, they are going to catch me! While i was on my way to dagget transition i started to pickup them coming into LA center freqs. They were approaching on my, higher and faster.
I did open 4 safari tabs on my aside laptop having the PEaware map plot of all of us. And being watching how all those red lines were reaching dagget almost simultaneously.
I was flying DAGGET transition CRESSO arrival, they were on DAGGET KEPEC3.
Once i crossed DAGGET the controller asked me to descend and cross WHIGG at 12 thousand, a minute later all of those heavies were arriving dagget from different origins and the controller started to align them, asking them specific altitudes and speeds, then switching us over to approach, announcing 25L vissual, altimeters, weather and ultimately asking us to switch over tower on final. I had a real joy listening the controller putting the traffic under control, i was also able to see those heavies actually passing over my left window one by one (night time) and then being aligned ahead of me downwind for visual 25L
While i was downwind, one heavy was already landed and taxing to parking, one was on short final, one was turning final a few miles ahead of me. I was 4th on the line and instructed to follow that traffic being cautious of wake turbulence.
FANTASTIC experience to me, just wanted to share. And hopefully PE or someone else could schedule regular IFRs?? does it work??
busy IFR experience, how to repeat/organize?
Re: busy IFR experience, how to repeat/organize?
I'm pretty sure you heard a few of the Excel guys. Its a PE-based VA that flys from LAS (hub) to other airports in the coverage area (spokes - 2 airports of their 14 routes are not in the coverage area; one of which is PHX). If you search ATP Experience (name of the VA), you'll find a brochure (edit - I attached it). One of the goals of Excel was to create sort of a busier environment, which I think we'd all enjoy (and based off your post, I'll assume you did
). I would PM jx_ (Joe, founder of the ATP Experience) if you're interested in joining. I'll refrain from going into too much detail lest I say something false....
PS - PEAware knows them as TPX (airline), if you want to search a few of their routes.

Where on earth was that hiding? That's a magazine article from nearly 10 years ago from the first iteration of ATPx.If you search ATP Experience (name of the VA), you'll find a brochure (edit - I attached it)

back when Peter was a dispatcher!

Indeed - Peter Grey was Mr. Gray back then (according to the brochure
). Apparently, you could also enter atpexperience.net without a login. Looking back on it, I think I actually came across the PDF after googling "ATP Experience Pilotedge" - can't seem to find the PE thread anymore (I swear there was one) - seems like I've uncovered ancient history!

Yeah, I hit the link and it required a login. It might be good to find out if there's a way to join/apply/be screened for the group. Maybe a companion program to do this with small jets/props using the same ruleset or guidelines.

Application process is emailing Joe now
Think they should issue a new updated brochure (though it may not be worth the time...).

I used [MOD: removed. Let's not post someone's personal email address in the forum. You can PM it to the user] though I think he has quite a few (any of them will work).
Looking back at the previous posts, I see why you deleted the post, haha.
