Can I spectate how others fly with PilotEdge?

Post by super jet 100 »

Hi, I have just begun to think about flying in PilotEdge, and before I jump right in I would like to spectate/observe PilotEdge. I have Prepar3D installed on my laptop and I would like to watch/listen in 3D (instead of using PilotEdge receiver and 2D googlemap) how other pilots perform their flights.

You can sign up for the free 2 week trial and sit at an airport and observe. I suggest KSNA. It is the busiest.

You can also YouTube search "PilotEdge" and you can find MANY screen shares there. Froogle and X-PlaneJunkies have some good ones.

Also, consider the PilotEdge training program: http://training.pilotedge.net/page/Home

I suspect you meant "KSNA" - it is much busier than KSBA. KSBA vs. KSNA

You might be better off watching cockpit broadcasts from twitch (either live or those that are archived on twitch or youtube).

Seeing it from their cockpit is more relevant than what you're proposing IMO.

I have to agree.

Watching youtube or twitch videos of other people flying would likely give a better picture of how other people use the PE network.

Don't discount the value of just listening to the radio communication via the PE receiver. Practice just listening. Try to catch the read back mistakes. Take note of the good and bad radio calls.

Don't waste big chunks of the PE free trail just watching other people fly. IMO the PE trail should be used actually test your sim and flying the PE network yourself. However I would recommend starting the trial when you are prepared to get the most value from the trial. IE, can you fly your airplane well enough to hold a course and altitude? If not, practice these basic skills first to get the best value of the trail.

Welcome aboard.

Agree also--best way to get the vibe on how PE works are the training videos and some Twitch/YouTube folks.

Is there any way to see what the other pilot is doing in P3D with any kind of 3rd party software? Or the best option for me will be recorded youtube videos? I just want to learn how to communicate on radio with ATC.
