Just saw this today and it looks very similar to the C172 created for FSX/P3D by A2A. I'm an Xplane noob so if this is old news, let me know.

Re: New C172 for Xplane?
Just came out yesterday. I did a stream of it last night and highlighted a portion of it showing off a lot of the details of it. It's an awesome model and is very much A2A like. It is a huge addition for X-Plane.

Bought it today, thanks to Chevy's stream.
Awesome, just amazing plane. It is great to have a true trainer that works.
The flight dynamics are as close as I have found to a real C172 and the systems are great.

I picked this up this evening. First flight was TEC route from KSNA to KMYF. Keith back on the scopes for this flight. I have to say this little bird is AWESOME. Definitely a game changer for X Plane 10. It keeps getting better and better.

Re: New C172 for Xplane?
This is very, very good news! I am most certainly picking this plane up.
On another note, does anybody know of a similar quality P28A replication for Xplane?
Edit: I do see that the same company has this: http://store.x-plane.org/PA28-181-Archer-II_p_76.html; however, is there something else better out there for the P28A, or does this company seem to be consistent in their quality?

Re: New C172 for Xplane?
Yep, I'm taking a huge hit on framerate. I'm normally 30-60 fps with most rendering settings turned on or high, and my first load of this plane was 2-6 fps. Had to turn some settings down and still can't get it above 30 fps again. Part of it might be the 3d model (there are lots of high detail curves) but I also noticed that it's probably mostly due to plugins. When I put the game on pause my frames jump up drastically. Since the issue seems to be happening to some and not others, I've wondering if it's a plug-in conflict with some other plug-ins.asad112 wrote:I got it yesterday and flew for just about 15 minutes at CMA. Everything seems amazing, except for the frame rate. Anyone else taking a hit on frames with this plane?
Re: New C172 for Xplane?
Yep I will second the frame hog. Seems to take 5+ fps as its toll.

Re: New C172 for Xplane?
It might have 4k textures for the cockpit and/or the rest of the 3d model. If you're seeing a _massive_ framerate hit, it's likely that you're exceeding your vram limitations. Try enabling texture compression if you haven't already, and/or drop the texture resolution down a notch or two.
Re: New C172 for Xplane?
Sitting at KSNA with the 172 turned on with all avionics on, I am using 2.2 GB out of 4 GB of VRAM. Unpaused, my framerate is around 27 fps. When I pause the sim, it jumps up to 37 fps. It's not just the 3D model/textures.
