EDIT...I added a very abbreviated guide for ATC comms, I used it primarily to improve my CTAF calls. It does have a nice glossary at the end which may help.
There are times where TWR will issue a advisory to a pilot on final that there is a pilot on the runway with a "Line up and Wait" instructions
"N123AB, traffic is a Skyhawks holding in position runway 20R"
