Massive Phoenix Storm Destroys Aircraft

Post by Kevin_atc »

You may think of Arizona as being a hot, dry, cactus-filled state...but that's not to say we don't get some nasty weather.

Last night a huge storm rolled through and hit Chandler Airport (CHD) very hard destroying many aircraft (even those that were tied down).
Very sad...the airport is like a graveyard now.

A light sport plane at my home airport wasn't tied down during a storm last month and went cartwheeling across the ramp before hitting a Citation X. Luckily the only damage to either plane was the sport plane needed a new prop and minor fixes to the wings. It was definitely a sight to see....

What shame.

However there are some ideas for real world tail numbers to use online.

N5340T
N917PA
N8336?
N81150
N320PA

May be others but it's hard to see.

Some how there wasn't. Other than a few scratches...
