I'm having trouble getting com2 to transmit on PE. Regardless of the radio selected only com1 could be received by the controllers. I'm flying the new c172 from airfoil labs 1.30...is there anyway to help troubleshoot if this is an issue with the aircraft or PE client? Is there an appropriate frequency to do radio tests with the controllers?
Thanks!

Can you get ATIS on com 2?
Re: Com2 inop x-plane 10 Mac
Yes, I can monitor ATIS on com2...I think it's the standard x-plane ATIS, is there something unique to PE?

It's usually an aircraft-specific issue. Try one of the default X-Plane aircraft like the Baron, and call up the local clearance delivery (118.00 at KSNA) and to help, something like this:
"John Wayne Clearance, November 123 Papa Charlie, Radio check, testing COM2"
They can get flooded with radio checks, so it helps to tell them right away that you're testing a COM2 setup. A PE controller can tell what freq you're transmitting on, so you can set COM1 for tower and COM2 for clearance and test also.

Re: Com2 inop x-plane 10 Mac
If you'd like to know which freq you're on, just use the online map, it shows you what you need to know.
the plugin checks a specific dataref (I'd have to look it up to refresh my memory) to know which radio to use for transmit/receive. Stock xplane audio panels set the dataref correctly. Some custom payware planes do their own thing (to get a more realistic audio panel configuration), but since they don't set the stock datarefs in the process, we have no way of knowing that they're trying to transmit on com2.
I would skip the radio checks, it's a process that doesn't scale well. I'd suggest using the online map to verify your frequency. It updates every 10 secs or so.
Another way to check is to tune one radio to a ctaf (122.80 for example) and the other to an active ATC freq (assuming it's busy and there's a good flow of chatter). If you change to the ctaf and still hear ATC, then you know that it's not using that radio.
Once we have full dual comm support in the pilot client (this is nearly ready for release), the process will be a bit different, but this works for now.

Thanks Keith! Looks like you were correct...the stock C172 worked fine on either radio but only com1 works on the payware plane. I'll be looking forward to that future PE client release.
