To the OP, SMO has the most complex departure IFR instructions in Socal due to its proximity to LAX. Try SNA instead and try the I-1 rating.

I also like requesting for a Full Approach, forces you to get better at reading the approach plates.
This was part of one of the I ratings and it really brought allot of the understanding of how to read and properly fly approaches.

Thanks keith, I was wondering if you would connect my post with my flight. Sorry for disconnecting on you, I couldn't hear the instructions you were giving me. Ill try working my way through the ratings. P.S. you might want to put the windows settings for the microphone to prevent it from dropping the volume on the download page. Also, maybe a screenshot of the fsuipc settings for a PTT button.
