Possible Stupid Question

Post by BonanzaDude »

With FSX & P3D I could set up a default starting spot that when I started the program it would take me to that location. I always made that default location someplace local to me with limited scenery and a default FSX or P3D plane. Is that possible in X-Plane. The reason that I ask is because recently when I have closed a flight the next time I start X-Plane I am getting my default setting in the JAR Design A320 somewhere on the ramp at KLAS. I have never placed the A320 anyplace ofther than gate D34 so I am not sure what's happening. When I load a situation that I saved "UAL A320 KLAS.sit" my screen goes haywire and the plane spirals into the ground (or sometimes on a UAL 747) with flames shooting out of the non running engines. Please help and this is getting frustrating.

Thanks,
John

To complicate the matter even more. I call up the default Baron at Signature at KLGB. File -> Quit. Go back into X-plane and the plane is situated at the other end of the field near the LA County Sheriff's helicopters. Office I wasn't carrying anything over the boarder. I promise.

Granted I know I can just drag it back or use Load the situation, just looking for an easier way of starting the program.

The default location when loading a scenery will always be the first location listed under ramp starts in the airport menu.

You can do this two ways:

Save "situation"

Or use The WED program that comes with X-Plane to create it.

I realize this is a couple months old, but...

X-Bookmark and possibly other airplane-specific plugins will "save" the last place you left your plane (including fuel quantities and, in most cases, your cockpit configuration) if that's something you'd be interested in.

... and don't forget that situations usually don't carry over smoothly between upgrades.
