VFR Routing and Deltas

Post by barcman1967 »

Good Day,

Question regarding VFR route and Delta transitions.....

Assuming a KONT to KTOA via KCNO KFUL and KLGB at 4,500 (to be under the Bravo shelf) with Flight Following in place.

SkyVector route here:

https://skyvector.com/?ll=33.9368904200 ... LGB%20KTOA

Will ATC automatically coordinate the Delta transitions along the route to KTOA?

I don't want to go blazing into that congested space without knowing....

Thanks in advance.

Yes, if you're receiving flight following and there's a reasonable expectation that you'll cross airspace, ATC is obligated to handle the necessary coordination (ATC 2-1-14a). If the route would put you through a bravo, they'll probably inquire as to how you plan to transition the bravo and hand you off as necessary to get the appropriate clearance.

More on the "Bravo" side, unless specifically told, even when receiving flight following, "cleared into/through the @@@ bravo airspace", you are remain outside of it.
