Yesterday I was doing my I1. I was flying using p3dv3. I was also using fsopen for weather.
There is no real world weather built into p3d that i am aware of.
It was interesting because even though i had the correct B-pressure as given by the controller and field elevation was initially correct
The flight elevation was consistently off by 900 feet. ( once airborne i had erroneous readings.....
I ensured that the calibration nob was set correctly and that the fl 3000 ft was correct on my gauge but I was actually only at 2100.
The controller was perplexed by this difference as was I.
The controller and i went through a series of check and we confirmed that although my aircraft was set correctly i was off by 900 ft ( actually i was dangerously lower by 900 ). He was helpful and we worked through the issue.
As soon as i landed i had the correct field elevation again... totally confusing..
Maybe you might see odd behaviour if there was icing around but not in this case
So maybe it was p3dv3 or fsopen or maybe something else but I was not expecting that ( and for sure not when doing a flight test),.
Im back to my old question of how I can ensure that my flight scenario is consistent with the wx and flight conditions on pilotedge
I would like to always be in sync with the controller wx and conditions they anticipate.
I actually thought for a minute that they had thrown me a curve ball just to ensure i was thoroughly tested on my I1.
Nothing like making me sweat a bit......!

Re: wx and barometric pressure issues
this site has an ATIS system where you can see the wx that the controllers see.

What about Opus FSI? Extremely accurate.
A survey without a selection for "OTHER _(specify) ________ is a bit of a stacked deck.

Re: wx and barometric pressure issues
I put up a poll for wx choices with p3d 2.5 and 3. One answer was internal .
I dont think p3d has an internal link like fsx to real world weather
So just trying to sync the myflightroute, com atis weather with my sim...
Thoughts..
