Outstanding. In & Out is a rite of passage for plane spotting. And bring a scanner, for sure!

Tim & I once had a great meal at an Indian restaurant in the line with the rwy 27 final at SAN. It was outdoor seating, but it had fairly tall walls, you couldn't see the planes until they were virtually overhead. The sound bounced around in a weird way and it sounded like they were coming from exactly the wrong direction.

That last picture was from the front yard of the house we rented right off 27. Very little zoom required :shock:

Ahh, reminds me of my childhood living under an approach to the 22's at EWR. An earth-rattling low pass by a 747 on a cold, foggy night has burned a permanent impression in my memory.
