LAX LOOP7 Departure
LAX LOOP7 Departure
Today I filed the LOOP7 departure out of LAX in a King Air B200 but was informed by the controller that the LOOP7 is for turbojets only. I didn't see any such restriction on the chart (unlike the LAXX7 for example), only the 500 ft/nm min climb gradient, which was doable in a King AIr. Is there a behind the scenes SOP that I'm unaware of?

Not really. It's a local thing. If you want to check for yourself, have a look at this. LAX GA Departures. Notice for all turbo prop or piston aircraft, there isn't a single LOOP DP. Only Jets will get that.
Similarly, all SIDs out of LAS are turbojet only even though the SIDs themselves don't say they are restricted. Everybody else will get a vector. Interesting, huh?
