Is this tec route correct? it's a link straight from myflightroute:

Yep, that's the ONTN9 TEC route. I'd expect that you won't fly that entire route usually, you'll probably get a shortcut before PDZ.

That'd be fine with me, that's a pretty sharp turn to intercept a radial, lol.

Remember that route serves multiple departure airports. El Monte is the furthest west of them. The route makes more sense on paper coming from Riverside or Ontario, but the ODP from EMT does actually go to PDZ. I don't know if the ODP is typically assigned out of EMT or not.

Unless you are going to KLAX, you get the ODP out of KEMT.

Right you are. And before even getting established on the first leg of the flight I was given a right turn, vectors for final. Lol. I should have just rode my bike, or at least flew the 172 instead of a turbine duke, lol.

Yeah, once you climb passed the local MVA and it is efficient to do so, ATC tends to take you off the ODP.

MVA in a turbine duke comes up purdy darned quick, lol. I think I had my VS dialed back to around 2k fpm even.
