I thought this was kind of fun.

It was annoying at first because you cannot use diverging courses, which is a must for sequencing.
The first two, of three levels, is fairly simple. The last is challenging, because without diverging courses, you have to be aggressive with vectors.
It uses a strict, "thousand and three." It's a fun tool to experiment with speed control, (another must!)
You can use vacated altitudes, but I'd recommend waiting until the preceding airplane has descended at least 500'.
(And if you use this tool, then I'd also recommend, "nose to tail" to be sure you don't violate the three miles.)
The speeds you can select are between 160 and 250. (all a/c enter the sector at 250.)
You have to slow the a/c to 160 before a seven mile final.
The altitudes available are 2,000 - 6,000.
Compression is an issue on final, but not by much. If you match speeds at 3.5 miles, that'll be sufficient.
The best I could do was $175,000 and no separation errors. I didn't search to see if other levels were available.

Re: IFR Sequencing
This is really cool! A bunch of my friends and I were addicted to this game in high school and college. It's similar. http://atc-sim.com/
