That all depends on the simulator you are using. Instructions for mapping are available on the downloads page.

I use P3D, but I'm not sure how using P3D changes how I would map a PTT in PilotEdge. I'm a wee lost on this one.

I'm probably going to come off a bit jerk-ish, and for that I will apologize.

Did you read the materials from the link above for FSX/P3D?

You can either use FSUIPC to directly trigger the PE PTT function, or you can use an external program to make your joystick button trigger a keypress and then map that keypress to the PTT function in the PE client.

I would certainly recommend FSUIPC...it also has built in functions for the Transponder Mode C and the Ident button. There is no need any more for the PE client, which anyhow tricky to use in full screen mode.
You need however the registered version.

Ok, so I have the registered fsuipc and I did read the above but the only thing it says is "use fsuipc". That doesn't help me much.

If anyone would be kind enough to tell me how to setup fsuipc to trigger ptt in pilotedge I'd be utterly delighted.

And, no one has come off jerk-ish. Like I said, I read it, it just didn't explain "how".

Thanks everyone!!

"If you’d like to map the Push to Talk feature to a button on the joystick or yoke, you can use FSUIPC to trigger the “Ptt Transmit On (rw Or Avc)” and “Ptt Transmit Off (rw Or Avc)” events."

Open FSUIPC and map your desired key to the desired command listed above for pressed and released functions. Just make sure the repeat option is not selected.

I went to my set up and here is step by step instructions.
Open FSUIPC -> Select Buttons + Switches -> Press your desired button -> "Control sent when button pressed" = PTT Transmit On (SB3,RW,AVC) -> "Control sent when botton released" = PTT Transmit Off (SB3,RW,AVC)

Control to repeat while held is blank. Both parameters should be 0.

Thank you so much, then do I have to go into the pilotedge app and assign it as well?
