I use the JoyToKey app and it works well. FSUIPC is next on my list after I head back to FSX in the next month...

No, The assignment in FSUIPC works just fine. Additionally to the PTT you can also assign IDENT and Transponder C. As far as I remember both functions start with "Xpdr..."...so just scroll down in the dropdown menu of the button assignment until you find the appropriate function.

I'm sorry gents, I feel absolutely daft right now.

So if I set it up in fsuipc I don't have to set it in the pilotedge client?? Before I just went into the pilotedge client and set a mouse button. If it's set in fsuipc will it register in the pilotedge client or I just don't have to set it there?

Actually, PE is built on Squawkbox, a communication tool for VATSIM. Many of the offsets used are therefore the same, that is why FSUIPC´s commands (which were built for Squawkbox) work also in PE.
I did not have any settings made in the PE client, I only work with the buttons mapped in FSUIPC and have no problems at all with it.

Correct, if you trigger the function using FSUIPC, there are no settings that you have to configure in the PE application itself.

Joined/setup this week and just wanted to confirm JoyToKey works beautifully to map PTT to yoke button (really in this app you are mapping yoke button to scroll lock which is your PTT keyboard button). The link for the "Joker" application is dead in the instructions and couldn't find it googling. FSUIPC looked to have the key mappings functions disabled in the free/unregistered version (might have been misunderstanding the application there, but alas, googling and installing JoyToKey was much faster than figuring all that out).

One hint: If you run your simulator as administrator, you must run PE client AND 3rd party software (JoyToKey, etc) as administrator (otherwise you could possibly have application to application communication issues).
