X-Plane and random animals?

Post by ewandougie »

Is there any way to get rid of the birds and deer on X-Plane? I have just made the switch to XP10 after getting an old Mac Pro off Ebay and I was taking the SSG 747-8 off from SFO, all of a sudden there were a load of bangs at V2 and then all 4 engines caught fire, disconnected before the controllers noticed the 747 shaped mess at the end of 28R.

Turns out there were some random birds that were pretty invisible from the 74's cockpit

In settings/ rendering options uncheck the box next to "draw birds and deer in nice weather"

Moved from General to X-Plane forum since this is 100% specific to xplane.

I liked the birds (as a challenge for a potential "failure" event) until I realized they weren't independent of the deer. Departing a field in the middle of suburbia with a herd of wild deer running across the tarmac is a real immersion killer. ;)
