Callsigns that aren't in the controller's database?

Post by ewandougie »

So I am wanting to fly with a callsign CLA which is the ICAO for a new UK heavy cargo airline (Cargo Logic Air, ordered 6x 747-8fs :-)) mostly because I want to play around with the SCS 747-8 I have and its an awesome callsign (Firebird)

Anyway I was wondering how I can make the controllers aware of the callsign since the airline only started operations real world a couple of months ago and I doubt their database will be upto date ?

Can I just put the callsign in the remarks of the flight plan?

The airline codes wiki page says:

Code: Select all

CLA Cargo Logic Air FIREBIRD United Kingdom

If it exists there, the PE controllers can find it.

Never a bad idea with an obscure callsign.
