Wow! I was hoping for a release in 2016 after their last update, but I didn't expect them to release this beauty that fast (in terms of flight sim development cycles). Will be a day 1 purchase for me.

Hi, everyone. I'm Chris Powell, lead developer of the PMDG DC-6. We are really quite excited to be publishing this aircraft for you; it's been a tremendously enjoyable product to develop. This plane just has a lot of, well, soul. Whether it's an A-variant cargo dog in Everts livery, or a Pan Am bird winging passengers to and fro, I hope that lots of PilotEdge users enjoy flying her.

If you haven't seen Frooglesim's preview yet, it's a lot of fun:

I will!
I just hope you won't get spammed with support requests, now that you have uncovered yourself. :D

If you're a Windows user, the model is now available for $70. If you're a Mac user, yours still costs 12 million dollars. The notion of OS-specific versions of a model as separate purchases makes me sad. I won't be supporting this developer.

I'm surprised and disappointed that, after such a long gestation period, PMDG have not released the Mac version. It seems, from many forum posts on different sites, that a very significant number of X-Plane enthusiasts run it on a Mac. Well, they can't natively use FSX/P3D....... Boot Camp is OK, and I use it for FSX, but I'm not too sure that Macs run Windows like a computer built for it! For one thing, the graphics cards, while OK, are not really in the same league as the latest and greatest from Nvidia. Also, the cooling for CPUs and GPUs is nowhere near what is achievable in a Windows machine. Still, X-Plane in OS X is great, but I run the fan(s) a bit faster!

So, us Mac users will have to wait.......

Looking forward, though, to seeing some Twitch or YouTube in the DC6 by the usual culprits on PE ;)
