Halfway through a flight earlier, I had X-Plane suddenly crash. That was bad, but worse was that it would then refuse to re-open. After some efforts to restore with Time Machine (on a Mac!), and investigating the log.txt, I discovered that it was a Skymaxx Pro problem in parsing the METARs. Disabling X-Plane's real weather (not the Real Weather Connector plugin) allowed a stable situation.
I went on to the Skymaxx forum in X-Aviation's X-Pilot site. I discovered other users with exactly the same problem, and it has turned out to be a very strange bug that was thrown up due to remarks in the METAR data. There is a fix in the pipeline, but if anyone else was having trouble today, relax!
X-Plane crash today
Re: X-Plane crash today
Thanks for the heads up! I had a similar experience a couple of days ago but didn't investigate properly, although suspected SkyMaxx with its recent update to 3.2 (was stable before that). Good to know the issue has been identified and will be fixed.
