Passed the V1 (Day 8 of PilotEdge)
Passed the V1 (Day 8 of PilotEdge)
I have successfully completed the V1 rating on my first go just after 8 days of learning and studying using the PE workshops and other resources online. It just goes to show if you really want to get involved with something like this you just have to learn everything first but it is possible. I have said this many times now but the PilotEdge community is so friendly as when I needed help with something I didn't understand I posted on the forums and people were very helpful and noob friendly. The forums have helped me so much to achieve the V1 rating I don't know where else I would really go for help If I didn't understand something. So next is the V2 rating but I don't think I will be going to attempt that anytime soon as I have a lot more to work on and learn. Just to finally say I have the V1 rating is so satisfying.

You don't need to spend a lot either. I use a $30 Logitech 3D joystick and I prefer the feel of it over $200 HOTAS setups I've had in the past.

Agreed. That's what I started with and the additional buttons on the base really helped with flaps, gear and lights. Kept my head in the sim more than mousing around.Kyle.Sanders wrote:Seems to be what everyone has/starts out with.RyanK wrote:You don't need to spend a lot either. I use a $30 Logitech 3D joystick
I took some birthday/Christmas money a couple of years ago and bought most of a Saitek setup. If you're flying PE a lot, consider the Radio Panel a must purchase item. It's helped me so many times fighting the VC knobs changing frequencies.
