First Flight Question

Post by gazzazh »

I did my first flight today, fantastic. Hope I didn't do any mistakes.
My only questions is how to assign the PTT on my yoke using Spad.next Since I don't have the registered version of FSUIPC.

Thanks again for all the help.

Cheers.

You need to use a tool which will map a joystick button to a key press, such as Joy2Key, or perhaps one of the tools listed at this site: http://alternativeto.net/software/joy2k ... rm=windows

Map the button on your stick to a keypress (such as left control), then tell PilotEdge that the left control key is your PTT.

thanks Keith,

Would the Joy2key have any issues with Spad.next? would it interfere in any way?
thanks again..
cheers.

I wouldn't think that Joy2Key would have any problem with Spad.neXt.
Spad.neXt is a driver program that replaces the very limited Saitek drivers with more useful and programmable drivers.
I use Spad.neXt to control my panels, along with FSUIPC to control all of my controller Axis and keys to buttons. I haven't run into any conflict.
I don't see why any program that programs buttons would conflict with Spad.neXt.
I still have a lot to learn about Spad.neXt. There is a lot to it.
Ulrich Strauss is the developer of Spad.neXt (c0nnex) and you can contact him on his forums https://www.fsgs.com/forum/index.php?si ... 2f609393bf to be sure, but I don't see that it would conflict.
You can also ask him if there is a way to program keys to buttons through his program. There may be. He responds to his forums pretty quickly normally.
You really need to consider getting the registered version of FSUIPC. It is a very useful program.

You should be able to assign a "send keystroke" to the yoke button in SPAD.neXt. Click the button you want to assign in SPAD and then click the add event button (I think that's what it's called) and keystroke should be one of the options.

I finally got the receive light and can hear the controller and pilot interchange. I'm unable to assign a PTT that transmits and I need desperate assistance to get this done. The tried FSUIPC and that didn't help. Any suggestions?
