I've been having so much flight sim problems this past week that I didn't think I was going to get through it. I believe I have the flight simulators all straightened out, but now my PFC Throttle Console went belly-up.
I use the Precision Flight Controls Throttle Console and I have many different throttle setups for it. I really like it because if you want to fly singles, twins, MD-11 or 747s, all that you have to do is remove and replace the levers sets.
Well, I have been using the single engine throttle, prop and mixture vernier a lot with my A2A Skyhawk and the vFlytAir Cherokee 140 in X-Plane. I have become so used to it.
All of a sudden it quit working. It seems that Windows 7 did an update, restarted, then my throttle console quit working. I called PFC support and they said that it sounds like the electronic board went bad. The only thing that I can think of is that we had a thunderstorm with a lot of lightning and it might have knocked it out. I have battery backups with serge protection on all of my computers, so I don't know how it could have got through that.
Anyway, I ordered another electronic board for about $100 and I'll sure be glad when it gets here. I really miss my PFC throttle console.
I have managed to use a modified throttle setup that is pretty comfortable for me to use until I get mine fixed.
Well, on to preparation for the next test. This is just so much fun.
