Alphabet challenge flight not showing on PEaware?

Post by Dean33 »

Gradually working through the Alphabet Challenge.

Had a great flight today VFR with ff from KTSP to KUDD.

When the flight was over I couldn't see it to log against the challenge.
I used Windows P3D client to register flight plan in advance but noticed controller thought I was going to KPSP so maybe that should have alerted me!

Can this be checked please? Flown from about 11.40z to 12.40z. Thanks.

If not - I'll re-run tomorrow. :)

Great experience as usual.

Yes thanks Harold.

I fllew correctly from KTSP but I seem to have filed the origin as KTPS so the Challenge won't recognise it.

Hopefully Ken can reallocate?

Must be more careful.

Your flight #20 has been adjusted

I noticed a few gaps in your flight history (11,15,16,17,18)
  • "Fly the flights in consecutive order"?
Guess I need to add some additional checks in the code :)

Thanks For adjusting that Ken

Sometimes it's really difficult to fit in the next flight if it's a long one. Real life sometimes gets in the way!

I'll try to get back on track and fill the gaps in but if I get all 26 flights completed I'll be pleased whichever order they have been attempted. It surely won't alter the experience?

After all I think it was only last week Steve ? (originator of AC) regretted he'd never finished the course.

Appreciate all you do - but felt I had to respond.

Cheers

Hi Dean,
No worries!! I was a bit surprised because I incorrectly thought that the program was checking the sequence (my bad). I may add some logic to record flights that are out of sequence with an asterisk.

Since there is nothing more then bragging rights on the line, you are welcome to tailor the challenge as you see fit. I apologize if my comment came across as being critical.

I took some time to review the 1,899 flight records that have been submitted to date. I was able to correct a few errors where pilots flew the correct city pair but filed incorrectly. I also noticed an issue where flights were not recognized if they were filed in lower case. Those entries were updated and the code is being modified to handle this. If anyone has any issues with their logged flights, drop me a note.

The biggest issue continues to be pilots logging off the network prior to PEaware updating their arrival time (arrival times still shows "En Route"). I'm looking to modify the code to reject these submissions with an appropriate message. Unfortunately, if that happens I believe the only option is to re-fly that leg.
