Taking it to the next level I decided to give PilotEdge a try inside FlyInside in P3Dv3.4. What I discovered on my first attempt is that you need to import the PE window inside FI in order to connect. Next is that you have to have your cursor over the PE window and have it go from see thru to solid in order to talk. Now this might not be a bad thing as I was using a keypress to key the mic but next I will set the PE mic settings to open mic and when I want to talk just move the cursor over the reduced size window and talk.
For those who might not know, Oculus Rift has a built in mic...no idea where it is but you can just talk normal and ATC hears you. It would be nice to hear others input on the apps running together and if the developers of PE and FI were to see if there is a way to best have these two working together because if one wants total immersion for flight training, add a A2A GA plane in the mix with some ASN WX over Orbx scenery and you are as real as it can get for a home setup.

Sounds like a great setup, however, the only reason you'd need to have PE set as the focused app is if you're running the sim as Administrator, in which case you must also run PE as Administrator. This is documented in the installation procedure and is the #1 cause of PTT not working for people.

So when I start PE just right click and click run as admin? I'll give that a try.

You can do that each time (not terribly convenient, and easy to forget, but fine for the first test). Alternatively, you can right click, then click Properties -> Compatibility and select "Run this program as an administrator."

Alright so I did that and that did the trick...thought my issue might had been a VR thing. Decided to make my center mouse key button my PTT and that worked out great. Keith, we meet this year at Flight Sim Con and I didnt bring my main sim like I did the year before but here is a video of that as its a Simpit in a box van.

My VR sim is in a small room designed to have the feel of a taildragger/helo as seen here that I built for VR but before I got my OR:

So having PE working in FI in P3Dv3.4, I loaded up the A2A C172 for some pattern work at Riverside. Everything was working great and after two loops in the pattern departed the pattern for Big Bear. I am hooked. I've been a PE user prior but with the ease VR and the headset and how it all works together..I am sold on giving up my van simpit and going all in on VR. Seriously looking at buying a state of the art computer now, even though the one I have in the VRpit is nothing to laugh at, I'm thinking its time to go all in.
