Good Morning!

PE uses the same info as today's pilot in the real world. So to answer the question for 37CA, you'd pull a sectional chart and take a look at map for some hints. Since 37CA is west of John Wayne, you can hop over the mountains VFR then head for Dana Point and call the tower. They will get you in from there. IFR would be easy with only one navaid = SLI. Seal Beach VOR is the entry point for the ILS20R approach at John Wayne, so that makes it easy.

Frequencies are on the charts and they are the same ones that PE uses. If it says "CTC" that means "contact" so "CTC SOCAL APP WITHIN 20 NM ON 124.1"...that means you can use 124.1 in the sim to call a PE controller that is running the SoCal position. "SOCAL" is said as two words..."so" and "cal"...not "soakle".

8CA5 is just north of 37CA and same advice and route would work.

Good luck!
