Pilotedge receiver disconnecting in P3D

Post by matteospacca »

Good morning all,
Excuse me if this topic has already been discussed. I've been using pilotedge receiver for almost 1 year in x-plane 10 without having a problem. I recently started using also P3D but I keep getting disconnected from the server every 15-20 minutes (yesterday AAL224 KSFO-KSNA disconnected 4 times) XP is working more then fine so I don't think is a problem related to my internet connection. Can anyone help me on this? I'm running the last version of the receiver and P3D V3.4.
It is also very annoying since differently from XP the P3D receiver does not show when it gets disconnected since it is running in background.
Many thanks

Quite honestly, it's probably due to your internet connection.

I reviewed the logs. There were 3 instances where the server removed you as it hadn't received a position report from you and your client wasn't responding to pings that the server was sending. No other aircraft were experiencing the issue, so it wasn't a server-wide issue or a connectivity issue on the server itself.

Let's try to remove a few variables. For now, do not use the Receiver at all...simply fly on the network using P3D. Let me know if you still have the issue. Then, if you're able, conduct some flights with X-Plane and see if the result is any different. I know you didn't used to have this issue in the past with Xplane, however, if this is the result in a change of network connectivity that has happened recently, then it should effect Xplane the same way that it's effecting P3D.

Thanks Keith...just a clarification...what do you mean by "fly on the network but do not use the receiver"? The only thing that I do s to establish the connection via the control panel. I also noticed that yesterday a pop up window with a transponder/radio like panel showed up together with the control panel.. It that what you mean? Not sure how I was supposed to use it but I think that disappeared (closed itself) at a certain point of the flight.
Many many thanks.

You stated in your first message that you're running the Receiver and P3D. By that, I assume you mean that you're running the PilotEdge application for P3D as well as the PilotEdge Receiver (the standalone communication monitoring tool).

If that's incorrect and you are only running the PilotEdge application, then you can disregard the guidance about not running the Receiver.

At this time I probably think that the application automatically triggers the receiver...(sorry...not really used to P3D).
I will check and see if I can close the receiver window and let P3D run with the application only.
Thanks
