PE Aware question . . .

Post by rtataryn »

If I file an IFR flight plan with a required alternate, and then due to weather I end up flying the missed approach at my primary destination and divert to my filed alternate, PE Aware doesn't log or track the flight. Why does it get dumped? It's too bad because these are the flights that are the most interesting to review.

Great question Rod. I would assume its because the controller didn't change your destination on your flight strip. The flight won't be recorded unless you land at your destination (on the strip).

Thanks Marcus. So if the destination does get changed on the strip, does PE Aware log the entire flight from the departure airport, or just from the point that the strip was changed?

It should display the whole flight. I see it quite a bit on I-10 flights where some controllers won't change the destination to the alternate. It even happened when I took it. I wanted to review my hold but wasn't able because the final destination wasn't changed so the system didn't recognize it as complete and discarded the data.
