Weather Info

Post by Balu0 »

Just a quick question, I can get my ATIS at myflightrute. But where should I look for wind aloft data for altitudes for flight planning ?

Anyone have a good online source for that ?

I want to get my hands dirty with proper flight planning for my simulated CPL

Also, be sure you have a simulator (or addon) that provides accurate higher level wind representation

I'm using Xp11 with xEnviro, and since I had no access (and brain capacity) to check high lvl winds I can't say how accurate it is. What I can say is the winds are definitely there with this combo, I had to keep some significant wind correction angles to keep my needles centered sometime.

And IIRC default XP11 real weather now also downloads winds aloft data so it is there by default.

Now with the data to compare it to, I will be able to tell. I will try to make a proper plan for my next IFR (I just got a real E6B from a local pilot shop :D )

Thank you for the link again, I'm still wondering around that site :D so much data :D

I can confirm that the xEnviro weather is accurate, including the winds aloft. One other thing I will say, Skymaxx better step up their game. xEnviro is where it's at now!
