FSUIPC Offsets

Post by TexFly »

Hello,

Did anyone try to control the PE client using joke buttons?

Specifically the transponder NORMAL, STANBY, IDENT. I tried to use the offsets suggested by Squawkbox but they didn't work...http://www.squawkbox.ca/doc/sdk/fsuipc.php

Currently I got to use the mouse to switch the transponder but I would like to use the buttons I have available.

Thanks.

I'd like to learn this functionality via FSUIPC offsets too. Otherwise, do you know what is the name and location of the Squawkbox transponder gauge? Perhaps, I'd add it to a panel and create a FSUIPC macro with those mouse clicks, like I usually do for assigning different functions to all of my Goflight buttons and rotaries. This method is rather basic, but if it works it will be the easiest way.

PilotEdge does not use Squawkbox. It uses a DERIVATIVE of Squawkbox. Some of the offsets were changed (specifically to allow Squawkbox and PE to coexists without stepping on eachother).

I'll clone that SB documentation and update it accordingly when I can, but it's not the highest of priorities. PilotEdge has never advertised a FSUPIC capability.

That said, the transponder offsets haven't been changed as far as I recall.

Meanwhile I'd like to ask about that transponder applet. Is it possible to add it to a panel, is it possible to toggle it on/off the screen? Sorry if the original poster feels that I divert the discussion, let me know and I'll create a new thread then.

Thanks,
Sabre.

Sabre,
I tested the original offsets (SB) and they don't work on my sim. It would be interesting if you can test them as well and share the results...

I'm looking for a solution myself to make the transponder panel controllable like in real life. I also use Simconnect and the only variable available is the current squawk code.

Right now I have the panel on the projector (main screen) and I click with the mouse to switch NORM->STBY. It's the most unrealistic part of my cockpit!

Any idea is welcome...

I've found a way to control the transponder console with keys/dx buttons (on my GoFlight, CHQuadrant etc.) via key2mouse payware. It's a great little program to have (I also use key2lan from the same author) for all your games and applications at no CPU overhead. There are numerous combinations of sending keystrokes and mouse clicks to your game from the main keyboard/input devices or from the networked PC. No more fumbling the screen with the mouse for STBY or NORM buttons, I just press buttons on GoFlight (or CH Quadrant).

Cheers,
Sabre.

I also hope we'll handle it direclty via FSUIPC one day, meanwhile this works for me very well. Please post your findings.

Cheers,
Sabre.
