What do PE controllers see when we are on the ground?
At towered airports, what do the PE controllers use to "see" our aircraft when we are on the ground? Do they have a radar screen showing ground traffic or do they actually have a simulator to see us from a tower cab perspective? I am curious if we were to taxi incorrectly how long it would take before the controller caught the mistake?
Regards,
Peter

Fast. The virtual software used has an ability to zoom down to show aircraft movements on the ground - so you BEHAVE yourself.
I was setting up at SMO, was on the north ramp, but had to shutdown and restart, ended up on the south ramp. When I started taxiing, turned the wrong way. Didn't take long to be advised of a "shorter" route to runway 21.
