Steven and Keith - thanks for the info about the GNS430W in X-Plane. I know that X-Plane has a more realistic aircraft model and for that I envy you PC-based pilots who made it past the user interface (apparently the interface is/was more Apple-like?) to enjoy it. It does ease my envy a bit to read the GPS is no better than FSX.

Perhaps "terrible" is a touch too strong a description for the stock GNS430 in FSX, but with severe limitations such as a pilot unable to move through the flight plan and select a waypoint down the plan to fly direct to that point, unable to save flight plans, and approaches being limited to those in FSX's default database, as well as too many others to list, that GPS is not even close to the real world unit. It is simply a glorified DME/moving map. :)

For the repaint offers here, are you only able to repaint to X-Plane or do you do FSX, too? Here is N2845W, a V35B with tip tanks that I fly:

The unique aspect that would make a repaint match the real world aircraft would be the TKS panels on the leading edges of the wings and ruddervators (just greyish bars across the leading edges). I have even more pictures should someone with much more talent than I have feel like such a project.
Regards,
Peter

Andrez,

Once I get done with my paint job it should be fairly simple to do a paint for you. Look at some pics and find a plane and tail number you like and I'll crank it out for you.

Peter,

I've never painted an FSX aircraft, but I'm game to give it a go. Send me more pics at my yahoo address: winslowphoto@yahoo.com

Also, to paint the FSX aircraft I'll need the paint files. Let me see if I can get them on my own, otherwise, I may need you to send me the paint files. I don't need the aircraft, but I do need the fuselage and wings texture files. If the FSX model comes with a blank white livery, those are the files I need.

Keith, you CAN load flight plans into the X-Plane stock 430 if you map a key or button to "load flight plan" in the buttons assignments and you've created an FMS flight plan with Goodway or the like. But, as you stated, you can't load STAR's, SID's or IAP's unless you create and record them manually in Goodway. The CAX FMS programmer also works to input flight plans into the 430. Nonetheless, it is definitely lacking in functionality. The Reality XP Garmin is the only thing that has made me (shudder) think about flying on a PC.
That's great information, Steve, I had no idea. I simply gave up when I realized I couldn't enter the waypoints using the unit itself.

Believe it or not, I wrote the original CAX FMS programming plugin. It was one of my first plugins, right after the transponder plugin that squawks stdby/normal automatically based on the flight condition. :)

Here are a couple of work in progress shots of my livery as well as some shots of the real world N6MY. I'm replacing the walnut textures of the panel with the plain ivory panel. I hope to have her finished tonight...or at least by this weekend.

Absolutely awesome aircraft.
Did some testing last night, excellent.
Found it so far the most realistic model to date I have owned so far.

BTW, what is the ICAO code for it? V35A?
