Is there any way to get the navaid frequency shown except of on the chart?
When I use Sectional chart as display, sometimes it is hard for me to see navaid frequency despite maximum zoom.

Re: Ipad ForeFlight/SkyCharts
Hi,
I have both Foreflight and Skycharts.
I have try to find a solution to conect Foreflight to x-plane for the moving map, have also email Foreflight, but until now I have not found a solution to get them work together.
Skycharts works just fine with x-plane, I have my Iphone and Ipad connected to x-plane and showing my x-plane position on the charts. I purchased Skycharts last night and got it configured with x-plane a few hours later, it was easy.
If someone finds the solution for Foreflight please post it here,
Thanks

I now use Skycharts, but own Foreflight and WingXPro for RW navigation. Like you, I'd love to be able to use one of the latter two apps in the sim world, so I can have it match up as closely as possible to what I see in the air.
Intriguingly enough, WingXPro currently interfaces with an ADS-B unit from Radenna that transmits WAAS-GPS and WX over wi-fi. That leads me to believe that there's a way for that app to receive position data over wifi from X-Plane, just like Skycharts does. I plan to write the developers of WingX to see if there's a easy way to have that app "listen" for position data from flight sims, and will post back here if I hear anything positive. I would think the Foreflight and WingX teams would be interested in facilitating a simple way for real-world pilots to use these powerful applications while simming - my experience is that many RW pilots use flight sims pretty extensively. They might even be able to sell a few virtual pilots these $99 apps in that case.

I use Foreflight almost for every flight. It would be fantastic to be able to use it in sim for tracking. It does track in real life, already checked it while driving a car, I will check it in the real flight soon.

Re: Ipad ForeFlight/SkyCharts
I use ForeFlight on every flight, both RW and PE. I have a wi-fi only iPad 2...so no internal GPS. I bought the $99 Dual external GPS and love it for RW flying. I have no experience trying to get the iPad to recognize X-Plane data output as GPS coordinates. I just use ForeFlight for charts and info when sim-flying.
If you touch and hold any place on a sectional (or IFR) chart in ForeFlight, you'll get a pop-up list of things that are nearby. If there is a navaid nearby (e.g., a VOR) it will appear in the list, along with the frequency. If an airport is nearby, it will appear, but with a little arrow you can click to be taken to the Airport page for that field. Handy feature. Is there any way to get the navaid frequency shown except of on the chart?

Re: Ipad ForeFlight/SkyCharts
I'm friends with Heikki Julkunen the developer of SkyCharts and a very good instructor too BTW. Skycharts connection with xPlane is by design and part of the programming. Until someone develops a method for connecting to the position output of xPlane (and MSFS for that matter) and making into a usable output for the iPad SkyCharts is going to be one of the few real world aviation apps that will work for this purpose. I have seen the other developers turn their nose up at the mention of this so it is not high on their priority list. Let's watch PilotEdge get placement in some of the larger flight training institutions and this attitude will quickly change.
