I thought I'd share a few videos I've found to be especially helpful for seeing how to fly in the real world in the PE coverage area. As someone who's only done a couple of intro flights in real life, these have been great for getting down r/w procedures as I save up for real lessons.
Youtube user "FullSwingMedia" has some excellently-produced vids with ATC audio of flying around SoCal. This first one is a flight from KWHP Whiteman to KAVX Catalina via the mini route, a flight I've done a couple times on PE.

These two are approach to and then departure from KSBA Santa Barbara:

Good stuff. Check out his channel for more.
User "fholbert" from 160knots.com has some good ZLA videos too. Here he is going from KAJO Corona to KEMT El Monte.

KAJO to KHND Henderson, IFR then VFR once enroute.

I'll add more as I find them. If anyone knows of other relevant videos, please post them.

Thanks for sharing these Jeff... I found the WHP-AVX flight particularly beneficial in regards to how a flight following request would be handled transitioning southbound through BUR from an air traffic standpoint. Videos like these really help in fine-tuning the level of detail we can provide into local procedures around the service area. It's not always easy to get a hold of that information directly, so thanks for sharing these. I'd be interested in any other good ones you find (I'm sure some of the other controllers here would appreciate that as well).

Awesome videos! I like the WHP-AVX as well. It's nice to see how other controllers outside of the midwest work...
And of course the pilot stuff is cool

Cool, I'm glad you guys find them useful.
Regarding local procedures, I was wondering about referring to local VFR reporting points like "4 stacks" when departing WHP, or saying "over downtown" when inbound to SMO. Would it be okay to do so on PE, as long as they're on the sectional? Or should we only use distance from airports or VORs?

If they are on the sectional, feel free. We know where most of them are.

Love vids like these. Very educational... if anybody has good vids like these not necessarily in the PE area, I'd suggest you post those too!

If you're ok with them being outside of the PE area:
http://keith.tristesse.com/page/flights_by_video (my personal flying site, haven't been update it since I started PE due to time constraints)
DIVX player is required for these videos. Otherwise, there's my YT channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/coma13794

Keith, would you mind to make that post sticky or move it to the Training section?
I think it is a great learning material and if nobody replies it will get pushed down ...*smile. Cheers, AJ
